Casino Reload Bonus: What It Is Worth After the Terms
A reload bonus is only worth its terms: 15x in 7 days at Caesars, 50x in the UK regulator's example, and blackjack counted at half toward playthrough.

A casino reload bonus is extra money or spins a casino adds when an existing player makes another deposit. Its headline percentage says little about what it is worth. Three terms decide that: the wagering multiple, how each game counts toward it, and the deadline for finishing. A reload with a modest match and light terms can be worth more than a large match with heavy ones.
What is a reload bonus?
A reload bonus is a deposit offer for players who already have an account, paid on a deposit after the first. It works like a welcome deposit match: the casino adds bonus funds in proportion to the deposit and holds them behind a playthrough requirement until it is met.
The difference is timing and audience. A welcome bonus is paid once, to a new account. A reload can come back, often tied to a schedule or a VIP tier, which is why its terms deserve the same reading as the first offer.
| Feature | Welcome bonus | Reload bonus |
|---|---|---|
| Who qualifies | New account holders | Existing account holders |
| How often | Once per account | Can repeat |
| Usual form | Deposit match, free spins | Deposit match, free spins |
| What sets its value | Wagering, game weighting, deadline | Wagering, game weighting, deadline |
How do reload bonus wagering requirements work?
A wagering requirement is the total amount a player must bet before bonus money, or winnings from it, can be withdrawn. It is written as a multiple, and the multiple applied to the bonus gives the play-through in cash.
The UK Gambling Commission gives its own worked example: a £10 bonus at 50 times wagering requires £500 of play before any winnings can be withdrawn. A US operator's terms read the same way. As of October 2026, Caesars Palace Online Casino's promo terms set 15x on select slots, so a $1,000 deposit that earns a $1,000 bonus requires $15,000 wagered within 7 days to release it.
| Example | Bonus | Multiple | Play-through | Time limit |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| UK Gambling Commission worked example | £10 | 50x | £500 | Not stated |
| Caesars Palace Online Casino deposit match (October 2026) | $1,000 | 15x | $15,000 | 7 days |
The deadline and the forfeit rules
The time limit is a cliff, not a slope. Under the Caesars Palace Online Casino terms, a player who does not meet the requirement within 7 days of opting in loses the bonus with no partial award. Clearing most of the play-through earns nothing.
Cancelling costs more than many players expect. The same terms say that cancelling the bonus means forfeiting deposited funds already wagered, on top of the bonus itself. Before opting in to any reload, check whether the deposit and the bonus are locked together, and what walking away costs.
How game weighting changes the real playthrough
Game weighting sets how much of each bet counts toward the requirement, and it can multiply the real amount a player has to stake. A requirement set for slots can count table games at a fraction of their value.
Respondents to the UK regulator's consultation pointed out that a slots requirement can be weighted at 50 percent for blackjack. Each blackjack bet then counts for half its size, so a player who clears the bonus on blackjack stakes twice what the headline multiple suggests.
Some bets count for nothing. Caesars Palace Online Casino states that sports wagers do not count toward the casino bonus requirement, so a shared wallet does not let a sportsbook bet clear a casino reload.
What a casino reload bonus is worth after the terms
A reload is worth the bonus amount minus the money a player can expect to lose while clearing it. That expected loss is the total play-through multiplied by the house edge of the games played, which is the gap between a game's return to player (RTP) and its full stake.
The terms move each part of that sum:
- The multiple sets the total stake. A higher multiple means more bets exposed to the house edge, and a smaller expected value left over.
- Game weighting stretches the multiple. A game counted at half its stake doubles the betting needed to clear it.
- The game list sets the house edge. Play restricted to select slots means the RTP of those slots decides the expected loss.
- The deadline adds forfeit risk. A short window and no partial award mean an unfinished play-through returns nothing.
Comparing a reload bonus casino against another on the match percentage alone misses all four. The cleaner test is the play-through in cash, the games it can be cleared on and the days allowed.
How regulators cap wagering requirements
In Great Britain, wagering requirements are now capped by licence condition. The rule bars operators from setting wagering requirements over 10 times on bonus funds, and from bundling more than one product type (betting, casino, bingo and lottery) into one incentive. The regulator said all changes take effect 19 January 2026.
The cap was aimed at the top of the market: the Commission noted that some licensees applied up to 60 times before it. Trade press reported the same limit, that sites cannot exceed 10x wagering before winnings are withdrawn.
These are UK rules. A US offer follows the operator's own terms, as the 15x Caesars Palace Online Casino example shows, so the multiple has to be read offer by offer.
How to claim a reload bonus
Claiming a reload is usually a short sequence, and the order matters because some terms start counting from the opt-in.
- Read the promotion terms for the multiple, eligible games, weighting and time limit before depositing.
- Opt in where the offer requires it, since the clock can start from the opt-in.
- Make the qualifying deposit with a payment method the terms accept.
- Play eligible games only, and track progress against the deadline.
- Withdraw only once the requirement is met, or accept the forfeit rules if cancelling.
Pros and cons of reload bonuses
A reload adds value only when its terms can be met within the deposit a player already planned.
| Pros | Cons |
|---|---|
| Extra funds on a deposit the player planned anyway | Bonus locked until the play-through is complete |
| Can repeat for regular players | Short deadlines can forfeit the whole bonus |
| Terms are published and can be compared | Weighting and excluded bets raise the real playthrough |
| Cancelling can forfeit deposited funds already wagered |
Quick answers
What is a reload bonus?
A bonus paid to an existing player on a later deposit, after the welcome offer is used. It is usually a deposit match or free spins, and it carries its own wagering requirement and deadline.
Can a reload bonus be cashed out right away?
No. Bonus funds have to be played through first. In the UK regulator's example, a £10 bonus at 50 times wagering means £500 of play before winnings can be withdrawn.
Do sports bets count toward a casino reload bonus?
Not at Caesars Palace Online Casino as of October 2026: its promo terms say wagers on sports and other events do not count toward the casino bonus requirement.
What happens if a reload bonus is cancelled partway through?
Under the Caesars Palace Online Casino terms checked in October 2026, cancelling forfeits the deposited funds already wagered as well as the bonus. Missing the 7-day window forfeits the whole bonus.
